Blyth & Bathe can facilitate and provide strategic discussion that resolves an issue in a way that both parties find acceptable. We provide our clients with a persuasive and compelling position in order to reach an agreement that meets our client’s needs.
In advance of any negotiation, Blyth & Bathe can provide knowledge and information to provide an understanding of the negotiating party’s position, including their strengths and weaknesses, and will help clients defend their positions and counter the arguments the other party will likely make to defend their position.
Creating, fostering, and guiding consultative boards and consensus-based committees is also one of our areas of strength. We have experience in creating Memorandums of Understanding between parties or amongst many stakeholders. We have provided advice to and represented parties in many different types of committees and working groups in the NWT. Our experience, especially with protected areas and First Nations, has strengthened our views that each negotiation is unique and that a customized forum and terms of reference for each situation are the keys to success.
