Our map and GPS course starts with a foundation in the NRCAN topographic map series, introducing concepts like UTM, latitude, longitude, map datums, contour lines, and routes.
We offer training in Paddle Canada flat and moving water canoe levels, swift water rescue, whitewater kayak level I-III, and kayak roll instruction.
We have decades of experience in canoeing and whitewater kayaking. Program lead John Blyth has been kayaking the large rapids of the Slave River since 2002. The courses can be delivered at Fort Smith on the Slave River rapids, where there are a wide variety of water conditions suitable for the beginner or the advanced paddler. We can also deliver the course in a location more convenient for you.
